He was predeceased by: his wife Joy Danielson; his parents, Francis Shoutz and Ora Shoutz; his sisters-in-law, Lois and Bonnie Shoutz; and his close friend Lois Nystrom.
He is survived by: his children, Lorinda Pearson (Rick) of Eden Prairie and Cary Shoutz (Nikki) of Backus; his grandchildren, Mackenzie Pearson, Callie Dobis (Chris), Keegan Schroepfer-Shoutz (Paul), William Hollinbeck (Kirsten) and Charles Hollinbeck (Mikayla); his great grandchildren, Haddlie, Leyton Dobis, Poppy Schroepfer-Shoutz and Vivian Hollinbeck; and his siblings, Donald, Douglas, Lowell (Sandy), Vernon (Karen), Kenneth (Carol) and Linda Lou Schmitt (Jim). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
