He was predeceased by: his parents, Thomas and Wilhelmenia; his son Leon; his brother Calvin; his sister-in-law Vera; his close friend Jeni Doelz; and his stepmother Ruth Breeden.

He is survived by: his children, Rodger (Wendy), Timothy "Hagar" (Trish), Ronna Breeden (Paul Shoberg) and Janele Huff (Donald); his adoptive son Scott Hanneman (Christine); and his stepbrothers, John McReynolds (Mary), Gene McReynolds (Linda) and David McReynolds. He is also survived by 8 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren.
