He was predeceased by: his parents, Arthur and Ruth; his brother Thomas; his brothers-in-law, Peter Gardner and Bud Lartch; and his nephew Paul Gardner.
He is survived by: his wife Barbara; his daughters, Jennifer Mishler (Justin), Michelle Burke and Amy Burke; his grandson Anders Gillman; his siblings, James (Idabelle), Stephen (MaryEllen), William (Ann), CharlaMarie Gardner and Lois Lartch; and his friend Belinda Stifter. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers memorials preferred to American Cancer Society or USA Hockey Foundation (Ron DeGregorio Goaltending Excellence Fund).
