He was predeceased by: his parents, Anne and James; and his son Tom. He is survived by: his wife Mary; his children, Mary Hackett (Steve), Laura Baxter (Peter), Jim (Marilyn), Bill (Dawn) and Deanne Middleton (Ross); and his grandchildren, Bryant, Jaylynn, Justin, Ashley, Andrew, Danielle, Dylan, Shaylee, Sam, Alex and Luke.
