He was predeceased by: his parents, Adolph Spitzer and Anna Spitzer (Schreiber); his son Adam; his brothers, Vern Spitzer (Carol), Ervin Spitzer (Shirley), Jim Prudoehl, Frederick Matzke, Curtis Matzke and Willard Matzke; and his sister-in-law Carol Grausnick.
He is survived by: his wife Marie; his children, Glenn Spitzer (Julie), Daniel Spitzer (Cara), Gerald Spitzer (Cheryl), Gene Spitzer (Lisa), Charlene Hanson (Darwin) and Karen Harrison (Mike); and his sister Donna Prudoehl. He is also survived by 18 grandchildren, 38 great-grandchildren.
