She was predeceased by: her husband Doane; her son Harry Root; and her granddaughter Amy Root. She is survived by: her children, John Root (Margaret) of Lewiston, MN, Bob Root (Mary Ann) of Spring Valley, MN, Steve Root (Cheryl) of Byron, MN and Bryan Root (Michelle) of Wykoff, MN; and her daughter-in-law Christine Root of Harmony, MN. She is also survived by 10 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, and 7 great-great grandchildren.
