He was predeceased by: his parents, Gustav Thiel and Hulda Thiel (Paul); his wife Evangeline; his parents-in-law, Martin and Anna Ernst; his brother Leonard Thiel; his sons-in-law, Ronnie Baumann and Larry Kutz; his grandchildren, Michael Noerenberg and Melissa Fiecke; and his brother-in-law Stanley Ernst.
He is survived by: his daughters, Sue Noerenberg (Jim) of New Germany, Shirley Baumann of Lester Prairie, Sandra Fiecke of Lester Prairie, Sheila Parpart (Jim) of Lester Prairie and Sharon Kottke-Nelson (Mark) of Winsted; his grandchildren, Brad Noerenberg (Jill), Justin Noerenberg (Leanne), Jason Noerenberg, Rick Baumann (Lisa), Bryan Baumann (Jacque), Nathan Baumann (Melissa), Tim Baumann (Lynn), Matthew Kutz (Jessica), Nicholas Fiecke (Britani), Angela Parpart, Robert Parpart (Amy), Charles Parpart (Summer), Kristin Sanderson (Ben) and Brandon Kottke (Kaylee Langer); his great grandchildren, Knoxon Parpart, Tucker Parpart, Landon Panning, Ethen Parpart, Aiden Parpart, Benjamin Sanderson, Alayna Kottke, Brody Kutz, Casey Kutz, Jace Mack, Ellie Noerenberg, Bree Noerenberg, Rylee Noerenberg, Nicole Baumann, Janessa Baumann, Brooke Baumann, Hailey Baumann, Tony Baumann, Ben Baumann and Alex Baumann; and his sisters-in-law, Dorothy Ernst, Carol (Ernst-Heigl) and Bruckschen. He is also survived by other relatives and many friends.
