He was predeceased by: his parents, Abe Kooiman and Martina Kooiman (Mouw); and his siblings, Peter Kooiman (Bertha), Genevieve Sas (Anthony), Mavis Schaap (Arnie) and Ardella DeBoer (Gordon).
He is survived by: his wife Harriet Visser; his children, Brenda Blankespoor (Mark) of Sioux Falls, SD, Bonnie De Boer (Jeff) of Edgerton, MN and Brian Kooiman (Lori) of Argyle, TX; his grandchildren, Ethan Blankespoor (Ashley), Elliot Blankespoor (Alyssa), Thomas Blankespoor (Haley), Kyle De Boer (Allie), Marissa Westra (Kyle), Jay De Boer (Kalyn), Anna, Gabriella and Benjamin Kooiman; his great grandchildren, Harper, Riley, Olivia, Bennett, Brooks Blankespoor, Avery and Hannah Westra; and his sister Verla Beckering (Willis).
Visitation was held on Sunday, November 17th 2024 from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the Ebeneezer Christian Reformed Church (11745 110th St, Leota, MN 56153). A funeral service was held on Monday, November 18th 2024 at 10:30 AM at the same location.
