He was predeceased by: his parents, John Sr. Lant and Frieda Van Lant (Halbersma); his wife Jeane De Jong; his daughter Joyce Shultis; and his siblings, John Jr., Lawrence Van Lant, Eva, Henrietta, Lillian, Edna, Alberta, Janet and Nellie.
He is survived by: his children, Verna Netjes (Warren), Brad Van Lant (Deb) of Linn Creek, MO, Brenda Vander Vliet (Dwayne) and Diane Irish (David BVan) of Sioux Falls, SD; his grandchildren, Tammy, Kari, Sherri, Vicki, Michael, Jackie, Tyler, David, Cory, Brett, Amber, Ashley and Adam; his great grandchildren, Morgan, Abby, Ashton, Addison, Sofie, Franklin, Alexander, Leo, Savanna, Hunter, Jaymeson, Berkleigh and Maezen; and his sisters, Fran Anker, Elsie Ver Hey and Rose Bleyenberg (Art).
