She was predeceased by: her parents, Teunis Vogelaar and Cora Vogelaar (Van Duyn); her husband Duane DeKam; and her siblings, Anna, Irene, Lester, William and Donald.
She is survived by: her children, Karen Walhof (Hiene) of Edgerton and Mark DeKam of Hull, IA; her grandchildren, Daniel Walhof of Edgerton, Jessica Walhof of Sioux Falls, SD and Megan Kischer (Chad) of Albert City, IA; her great grandchildren, Kate and Eli; and her sisters-in-law, Lucille Vogelaar of Vadnais Heights and Alberta DeKam of Lynden, WA. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many friends.
