He is survived by: his former wife Debra Irene Richer; his daughters, Irene Gitz of Bemidji, MN and Glenda Gitz of Bemidji, MN; his grandchildren, Sammi Perry (Devin) of Bemidji, MN, Kaitlyn Lukanen of Bemidji, MN, Aaron Lukanen of Hackensack, MN and Korbin Gitz of Bemidji, MN; his great grandchildren, Tyler Iceman and Jax Perry; his brothers, David Gitz (Jo) of Shevlin, MN and Donald Gitz of Maple, WI; and his close friend Debra Wood. He is also survived by one nephew; one niece; four great nieces; one great nephew.
