He was predeceased by: his parents, William Borchert and Leona Borchert (Zupfer); his wife Helene Suchanek; and his siblings, Carol and Bill.

He is survived by: his sister Sue Liesch (Phil) of New Ulm; and his sister-in-law Ann Suchanek of Wisconsin.
