He was predeceased by: his parents, John C. Nielsen and Bertha Nielsen (Larsen); his nephew Dale John Nielsen; his niece Janet Nielsen; his brother-in-law Kenneth Janssen; and his nephew-in-law Carl Nielsen.
He is survived by: his siblings, Dale Nielsen (Beverly) of Clear Lake, IA and Ruth Janssen of LeRoy, MN; and his nieces and nephews, Diane Nielsen (Ole) of Denmark, Denise Wilkins (Niles) of Ray, MN, Kathy Lange (Wayne) of Spring Valley, MN, Kent Janssen (Jolynn) of Sherburn, MN and Kevin Janssen (Tracey) of LeRoy, MN.
