He was predeceased by: his parents, Chester Wetzel and Annette Wetzel (Lang); his sister Linda Marie Wetzel; and his father-in-law Eugene Blaschko. He is survived by: his wife Kathy (Blaschko); his son Cody Wetzel (Lynnea); his grandchildren, Ava, Jaxson and Shay; his son Ben Wetzel (Abby); his grandchild Maeve; his son Jake Wetzel (Megan Kaisershot); his siblings, Mike Wetzel, Chris Wetzel and Lori O'Malley; and his mother-in-law Patricia Blaschko. He is also survived by many cousins, nieces, and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, the family welcomes donations that will be sent in to the Alzheimer's Association in Steve's honor.
