He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Newman and Elizabeth Newman; his brothers, Roger Newman of Plymouth, MN and Gary Newman of Grand Junction, CO; and his brother-in-law Steve Schultz of Mankato, MN..

He is survived by: his siblings, Paul Newman (Pat) of Mankato, Carol Welckle (Denny) of Harlingen, TX and Kathy Schultz of Mankato; his children, Brent Newman (Michelle), Justin Newman (Allison), Kristopher Newman (Kelly), Jessica Rivers (Michael) and Lindsay Munguia (Jose); and his wife Patty Slavik. He is also survived by 13 grandchildren.
