He is survived by: his former wife Joan Marie Sheehy; his wife Joan McCourtney of Le Center; his sons, John "Craig" McCourtney (Judy) of Eagle Lake and James "Binger" McCourtney of Eagan; his grandchildren, Jacob (Sarah), Brandon, Jeffrey McCourtney, James (Katrina), Christopher and Alissa Schlie; his great grandchildren, Mariah, Eva, Cambria, Wesson, Hayden, Tucker, Paisley, Stella and Emerson; and his siblings-in-law, Gerri David (Jake), Mike Lamey, Robert Sheehy (Maryls) and Bonnie Armstrong (Dale).
