He was predeceased by: his parents, Clayton Scheffert and Irene Scheffert (Boettcher); and his siblings, Joel, Keith and Pat Rheaume.
He is survived by: his wife Myrna Anderson; his children, Sue Schmidt (Larry) of Le Center, Sandra Miller (Tim) of Le Center, Vicky Factor (Dennis Miller) of Cleveland and James Scheffert, Jr. of Le Center; and his sisters, Judy VanHaften of Prior Lake, Sharon Traxler of California and Kathleen Deno of Texas. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.
