He was predeceased by: his father Richard Sorom. He is survived by: his mother Kathryn Sorom (Prottengeier); his daughters, Raena and Elliet; his sister Jennifer Hynek (Steve); and his nephews, Thomas, Jack and Sam Hynek. He is also survived by aunts, uncles, and cousins.
