She was predeceased by: her parents, Samuel Elfstrom and Minnie Elfstrom (Porter); and her brother-in-law Jerry Groves. She is survived by: her husband Robert Rustad; her daughters, Cynthia Smith (Scott) and Jennifer Rustad; her grandchildren, Mason Smith (Eszter), Regan Smith, Landon Smith, Domonique Newman and Taleah Brown; and her siblings, Jimmey Elfstrom (Kathy), Roger Elfstrom (Brenda) and Debra Groves.

She liked to say it was a good day if her winnings paid for her gas and lunch, but she joked that she usually just made a small donation.
