He was loved and cherished by many people including: his wife Joanne Carol Nelson; his children, Stephen Wilmes (Becky), Carla Student (Karl) and Joseph Wilmes; his grandchildren, Sarah and Nathan; his sister-in-law Mary; his niece Ann (Henry Wojtczak); and his parents, John B. Wilmes and Ann Lucille Wilmes (Topel).
