He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Douglas VanWesten and Elizabeth VanWesten (Schlager); his daughters, Faith Witt (Brian) of Ocheyedan, Angela Kaderabek (Rustin) of Lakefield and Amy Belben (Josh) of Lakefield; his siblings, John VanWesten (Linda), Joe VanWesten (Janelle), Paul VanWesten (Karen), Patricia Steffen, Susan Heberle (Arnie) and Sara Davis (Larry); his wife Vickey McKenna; his son Mattew; his sister Linda VanWesten; and his nephew Lance Steffen.
