She was predeceased by: her mother Josephine Schlager (Vachuska); her husband Douglas Van Westen; her children, Linda Van Westen and Thomas Van Westen (Vickey); her grandsons, Lance Steffen and Matthew Van Westen; her siblings, Sonny Schlager, Milton Schlager and Sylvia Von Ohlen; and her parents-in-law, Martin and Regina Van Westen.
She is survived by: her children, Patricia Steffen of Lakefield, John Van Westen (Linda) of Lakefield, Susan Heberle (Arnie Grote) of Worthington, Sara Davis (Larry) of Lonsdale, Joe Van Westen (Janelle) of Windom and Paul Van Westen (Karen) of Jackson; and her sisters, Helen York of Stewartville and Frances Allen of Montrose.
