He was predeceased by: his wife Phyllis; and his brother Delton "Bud" Portinga. He is survived by: his wife Marlys of Willmar; his children, Linnae, Lyle, Lori and Jensen of Breezy Point; and his grandchildren, Mark, Brian, Joe, Jake, Amanda, Horning, Christine and Lange. He is also survived by his nine great-grandchildren; his sister.
