He was predeceased by: his parents, Thomas Packman and Gertrude Packman (Breed); his siblings, Tommy, Dick and Dorothy Crispin; and his son-in-law John Nelson.

He is survived by: his wife Mary Schlager of Lake City; his children, Jay of Spencer, IA, Kyle (Heidi) of Park Rapids, MN, Theresa Nelson of Detroit Lakes, MN and Sonya Engen (Greg) of Detroit Lakes, MN; and his sister Margie Wendland of Florida. He is also survived by seven grandchildren; three great grandchildren.
