He was predeceased by: his parents, Wesley Moechnig and Eleanor Moechnig (Bremer); his brother Carl; his siblings-in-law, Marilyn Moechnig and Robert Leppala; his grandson Nicholas Johnson; and his great grandchild Iver Johnson.
He is survived by: his girlfriend Joyce Moechnig of Lake City; his children, Douglas Moechnig (Amy) of Medina, Jolene Johnson (Todd) of Clarkfield, Cheryl Mackinac (Richard) and Lynette Matzke (Christopher) of Lake City; his siblings, Jean Neste (Ronald), Mary Leppala, Marlene Mensink (Jerry), Elaine Miller (Dan), Joanne Tallman (Dan), Barbara Dahlgren (Bryant), Wesley Jr. Moechnig (Julie), Paul Moechnig (Delores), Howard Moechnig (Maria) and Bruce Moechnig; and his former wife Beverly Kackmann. He is also survived by 17 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren.
