It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Eldon J. Schmidt (Lake Benton, Minnesota), who passed away on March 17, 2020, at the age of 86, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, John Schmidt and Elsie Schmidt (Harder); his wife Marjorie Rasmusen; and his siblings-in-law, Robert Hurd, James Steinberg, Roland Rasmusen and Gloria Rasmusen.
He is survived by: his children, Philip Schmidt of Lake Benton, Mona Haynes (Patrick) of Lake Benton, Jackie Heesch (Thomas) of Pipestone, Kimberly Gates (William) of Lake Benton and Jane Davenport (Kevin) of Vancouver, Washington; his grandchildren, Amber DuHoux (Brent), Bobby Kuiper (Rachel), Christopher Haynes (Heather), Dana Davenport (Andrea), Benjamin Haynes (Krystle), Eric Macias (Emily), Melissa Davenport and Kiersten Surbeck; his great grandchildren, Kaylee Hamling (Thomas), Brayden Kuiper, Carl Haag, Breylon Kuiper, Morgan Haynes, Jaden Johnson, Kade Moffitt, Penelope Davenport, Jayse Kuiper, Etta Davenport, Hannah Haynes, Jacob Haynes, Rayah Kuiper, Graysen Cline, Kinsley Haynes, Payten Cline, Sawyer Haynes and Colt Haynes; and his siblings, Lee Steinberg of Missoula, Barb Hurd of Lake Benton and Russell Schmidt (Heidi) of West Bend, Wisconsin. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
