He was predeceased by: his father Michael Otto Hartmann; his grandparents, Otto, Mary Hartmann, Marcella and Elroy Bargmann; and his father-in-law Henry Gieseke.
He is survived by: his wife Angie Hartmann of Lafayette; his children, Owen, Karli and Madalyn Hartmann; his mother Diane Hartmann (Bargmann) of Gibbon; his parents-in-law, Lorie Gieseke and Mike Haas (LeAnn); his siblings, Rosanne Freitag (Ryan) of Hector, Karen Lyimo of Gibbon and Curtis Hartmann (Krista) of Winthrop; and his siblings-in-law, Tera Willaert (James), Paula VanDeest (Justin), Kayla Portner (Adam) and Jeff Haas (Tootie). He is also survived by nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, and so many other wonderful friends and family.
