He was predeceased by: his parents, Harry Bauer and Martha Bauer (Papenfuss); his daughter Diane Bauer; his grandson Christopher; his siblings, Leona, Phyliss, Walter and Robert; and his brothers-in-law, Richard, Stanley and Frank.
He is survived by: his spouse Thecla M Burns; his sons, Eugene Bauer (Lori) of La Crescent and Bruce Bauer (Katrina) of La Crescent; his grandchildren, Stephanie Kennedy (Jason), Jessica Bauer, Kiel Bauer (Leann), Jonathon Bauer, Kory Bauer (Tarah Sandven), Gabriel Bauer (Anthony Pisani), Lukas Bauer and Elliott Bauer; his great grandchildren, Laura Kennedy (Aaron Copley), Kaitlyn Bauer and Owen Bauer; and his sisters, Carol and Inez. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and other loving extended family.
