He was predeceased by: his parents, Carl Gundy and Luellen Van Gundy (Olson); his wife Loretta Leifeld; his siblings, Harold (Delores), Don (La Von), Wesley, Francis (Shirley) and Junior; and his brother-in-law Don Quillin.
He is survived by: his daughters, Annette Van Gundy, Linda Van Gundy of La Crescent and Nancy Van Gundy (Charlie Hotchkiss) of La Crosse; his siblings, Lois Quillin, Robert Van Gundy (Laurel), Judy Mrachek (Steve), Richard Nelson (Marion) and Larry Van Gundy (Patty); his siblings-in-law, Dorothy, Donna Van Gundy and Robert Gabbert; and his close friends, Bill, Dick Nissalke, Charlie Lehmann, Charlie Smith, Justin "Woody" Woodard and Michele. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
