He was predeceased by: his parents, Elmer Layon and Amelia Layon (Sippola); his wife Joyce Suominen; his sisters, Joyce Johnson and Elaine; his brother-in-law Norman Nikkola; and his brother Roger Layon.
He is survived by: his children, Gene Layon (Kathy) and Sandy (Randy); and his siblings-in-law, Sharon Layon and Walter Johnson. He is also survived by Gram; 7 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren.
