He was predeceased by: his parents, Wallace Halverson and Vivian Halverson (Anderson); his siblings, Ardis Kelly and Eugene Halverson; his niece Kristine Kelly; and his brother-in-law Thurber Spaanem.

He is survived by: his wife Jean Spaanem; his daughters, Kari Hanson (Brad) of New London, Susan Anderson (Edward) of Hutchinson and Beth Johnson (Jon) of Grove City; his grandchildren, Luke Hanson, Aaron Hanson (Maggie Oberg) and Brittany Anderson (Justin Peterson); his great grandchildren, Parker, Greyson and Mikayla Anderson (Alex Krippner); and his sisters-in-law, Judy Halverson and Mary Spaanem. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and friends.
