He was predeceased by: his parents, John A. and Jannes Svien, Sr. (Hauge); and his sister Virginia Nesseth (Roar). He is survived by: his wife Monica Scheiber of Kenyon; his children, Johnny Svien (Jennifer) of New Prague and Meghan Svien of Cannon Falls; his granddaughters, Samantha, Katelyn and Abigail; and his sisters, JoAnn Peterson (Ron) of Kenyon and Jeanette Baalson (Blair) of Kenyon. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
