He was predeceased by: his wife Lois Juergens; his parents, Elmer Herrlich and Emma Herrlich; his sister Betty; his brother-in-law Glen Putrah; his stepbrother John Mack; his daughter Diane; and his grandchildren, John and Joy.
He is survived by: his uncle Tom Bowles; his grandchildren, Jenny (Matt), Sara (Teague), Stacy (Chantel), Zac (Jess), Ben, Rebecca (Ian), Molly (Cass), Sam, Tory (Regina), Tessa (Brian), Travis (Dani), Kayla Jo, Katharine and Ivan; and his great grandchildren, Lillian, Amanda, Natalie, Kiera, Arya, Noah, Saige, Isaac, Sophie, Esther, Abigail, Marley, Dylan, Bailey, Scarlett, Bexley, Tabitha, Davin, Max, Maci and Wesley. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to First Evangelical Lutheran Church or donor's choice.
