He was predeceased by: his parents, Arthur and Clara; his wife Lou Ann; his grandson Christopher Held; and his sister Burdelle Hallanger.

He is survived by: his children, Linda Canton (Rick) of Pine Island, David Anderson (Pam) of Lakeville, Debra Zbacnik (Fred) of Elbow Lake and Mary Held (Jon) of Kenyon; his grandchildren, Nicholas Vold (Jennah), Jacob Brekken, Holly LaBoda (Matt), Jana Eggert (Ethan), Laura Leitch (Griffin), Whitney Canton (Alex Christianson), Emily Osdoba, Jacalyn Anderson and Sam Anderson; his great grandchildren, Landon Vold, Cohen Vold, Sadie LaBoda, Ruby Eggert and Camden Leitch; and his brother Arleigh Anderson.
