He is survived by: his wife Denise Dougherty (Gades) of Glenwood; his children, Luke Dougherty (Lisa) of Duluth, Sam Dougherty (Nicole) of Duluth, Meagan Paumen (Justin) of Alexandria, Austin Dougherty of Chicago, IL and Hunter Dougherty (Justina) of Fargo, ND; his grandchildren, Amelia Dougherty, Max Dougherty, Alena Dougherty, Nora Dougherty, Braelyn Paumen, Chase Paumen and Rowan Dougherty; his sisters, Patricia Ficke (Jim) and Dixie Wersinger (Ken); and his stepmother Orlean Dougherty.
