He was predeceased by: his parents, Margaret Barthel (DeMars) and Benno A. Barthel. He is survived by: his former wife Joan Ball; his wife Joani Barthel of Kelliher; his son Tim A. Barthel of Kelliher, MN; his grandsons, Tim J. Barthel and Army Nat; and his siblings, Joe Barthel, Robert Barthel (Pat), Bill Barthel (Bev), Tony Barthel (Debbie), Richard Barthel (Sandra) and Mary Greenley (Randy). He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
