He was predeceased by: his parents, Wilfred "Fritz" Vandal and Lula Mae "Judy" Vandal (Corliss); and his brothers, Jerry, David and Dale.
He is survived by: his wife Kathy Niehus; his children, Gary Vandal (Brenda) of Byron, Eric Vandal (Ramey) of Rochester, Dan Vandal (Michelle) of Rochester and Katy Vandal of Rochester; his siblings, Rosemary Lyman (John) of Montana and Jim Vandal (Ruth) of Byron; his grandchildren, Kammi, Cory (Laura), Alyson (Jeff), Lauren (Brandon), Collin, Connor, Alex, Ari, Hailey and Azalyn; and his great grandchildren, Makalia, Henry and Cayden.
A reception was held on Friday, February 7th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the River Park Chapel at Macken Funeral Home (1105 12th St SE, Rochester, MN 55904).
