He was predeceased by: his parents, Lewis Sr. Severance and Gladys Severance (Beyer); his wife Rachel; and his siblings, Stanley and Avis.

He is survived by: his children, Thomas, Jan Krieg (Lon), Gary (Angela) and Paul (Ann). He is also survived by eight grandchildren, & two great grandsons.
