He was predeceased by: his parents, Roy Carlson and Lorraine Carlson (Schaffer); his foster mother Mary Kinde; his brother Bob; and his brother-in-law Jim Schmidt.
He is survived by: his siblings, Tom Carlson (Shirley) of Slayton, Kathy Bloemke (Doug) of Winona, Jim Carlson of Garvin, Paulette Stefanick (Joe) of Garvin, Fran Carlson (Sandy) of Garvin, Camilla Schmidt of Flandreau, SD, Marlene Morgan (Rob) of Tracy, John Carlson (Lori) of Tracy and Mike Carlson (Melissa) of Granite Falls. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
