He was predeceased by: his parents, Merlyn and Hazel; and his sister Carol Walters. He is survived by: his wife Shirley Faulhaber; his daughters, Shari Welsh (Rick) of Dodge Center, MN and Susan Welsh (Dan) of Claremont, MN; his grandchildren, Richard Welsh II (Izzy) of St. Paul, MN, Danielle Snyder (Jacob) of Claremont, MN, Michelle Welsh of Dodge Center, MN and Rachel Theis (Michael) of Hayfield, MN; his great grandchildren, Griffin Snyder, Sophia Snyder and Beckett Snyder; his brothers, Ronald Dickie (Peggy) of Rochester, MN and Stephen Dickie (Donna) of Dodge Center, MN; and his brothers-in-law, Nathan Walters of Viroqua and Robert Faulhaber (Pat) of Hayfield, MN. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Dave had fought Parkinson's disease for the past 8 years.
