He was predeceased by: his parents, Ed Borchardt and Mabel Gertgen. He is survived by: his wife Dorothy Gertgen of Kandiyohi, MN; and his children, Mike Gertgen (Becky) of Austin, TX, Tom Gertgen (Verna) of Spicer, MN, Sharon Luft (Steve) of Kandiyohi, MN and Jeff Gertgen (Millie) of Sauk City, WI. He is also survived by ten grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
