He was predeceased by: his parents, Reinhold Erdman and Clara Erdman (Rosenthal); his wife Arleen Mae Dezell; and his siblings, Elmer, Arthur Erdman and Doris Guse.

He is survived by: his children, Lori Larson (Spider) of Waseca, Kris Haugen of Eagle Lake and Randy Erdman of Dell Rapids; his grandchildren, Josh Erdman, April Long (Josh), Ashley Erdman, Nicole and Brandon Larson; and his great grandchild Estella Long.
