He was predeceased by: his parents, Milton Porter and Agnes Matilda Harnden (Drager); his wife Marianne; his parents-in-law, John Knabe and Sylvia Knabe; his brother Keith Harnden; his sisters-in-law, Beverly Harnden and Sharon Harnden; and his son-in-law Chuck Yadloski.
He is survived by: his children, Elaine Rothbarth (Neil) of Worthington, Steven Harnden (Sherry Field) of Jackson and Cheryl Harnden Yadloski of Jackson; his brother Lynn Harnden (Connee) of Baxter, Iowa; his granddaughter Nicole Metz (Mike) of Rushmore; and his great grandchildren, Brycen, Jaxon and Camden Metz. He is also survived by nieces and nephews and numerous great friends.
