He was predeceased by: his parents, Henry Sr. Slinger and Elizabeth Slinger (Bult); his wife Mary Francis DeWitte; his siblings, Edward, Walter, Louis, Joseph, Bernard, William, Mary Arens, Martha Peiffer, Agnes Chapman and Helen Burkard; and his parents-in-law, Omer DeWitte, Charles and Joyce DeWitte.
He is survived by: his daughters, Kathleen Vrchota (Ron) of Jackson, MN, Diane Yager (Doug) of Sioux Falls, SD, Gloria Burkard (Alan II) of Sioux Falls, SD and Judy Felber (Tom) of Hutchinson, MN; his great grandchildren, Brian Vrchota, Bradley Vrchota-Sam (Cassie), Claire, Wyatt Yager-Oliver (Lisa), Mabel, Weston Yager, Allan Burkard III, Lori Ellitott-Aimes (Mike), Kyle Felber (Marie), Christian, Nathan, Isaac, Lyndsey Stadsklev-Soren (Brett), Kellen and Alex Felber (Shelby); his sisters, Margaret Slinger and Betty Staab; and his sisters-in-law, Rosie Slinger and Angeline DeWitte. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers memorials are preferred to the Jackson VFW Post #900.
