He was predeceased by: his parents, Anton Popowski and Ladislia Popowski (Citterman); his wife Phyllis Sik; his daughter Mary; and his brothers, Paul and Leonard Popowski.
He is survived by: his daughters, Carol Wersal (Randy) of Ivanhoe, MN and Becky Popowski of Stockton, CA; his granddaughters, Sarah Rud (Nate) and Heather Gildemaster (Lafe); his great grandchildren, Grace, Bjorn, Reagan, John, Tzeitel and James; his siblings, Karolyn Sik, Martin Popowski and Norbert Popowski; and his sisters-in-law, Jeanne Popowski and Roseanne Popowski.
