He was predeceased by: his parents, Gordon Sundby and Clarice Sundby (Olson). He is survived by: his wife Janet K. Hamann; his children, Brent (Latrisha), Jodi Kurtti (Russ) and Sister Judith Shaw (Larry); his grandchildren, Natalee, Samantha, Zack, Luke, William and Blake; his nieces, Robin Parker (John) and Tracy Wallin (Rick); and his nephew James Shaw (Danielle).
