She was predeceased by: her parents, John Heel and Elizabeth Van Heel (Scherman); her son Jason; her siblings, Mary Johnson (Bill), Millie Artmann (Jerome), Ann Doesken, Gervais Van Heel (Judy) and John Van Heel; her brothers-in-law, Roland Schuette, Jim Otis and Jim Peterson; and her niece Karla Schuette.
She is survived by: her husband Robert G. Peterson; her children, Jeff (Dawn Ahrens), Tim (Debby), Kari (Toby Ponting) and Scott (Deb Stoffel); her sisters, Betty Macziewski (Wilbert), Audrey Otis and Dorothy Schuette; and her siblings-in-law, Laurel Van Heel, Faye Peterson and Warren Doesken. She is also survived by 7 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
