He was predeceased by: his parents, Magnus and Edna Nelson Sr. (Randall); his wife Ruth; and his siblings, Clair and Tina Kimball.
He is survived by: his children, Jerry, Rob (Karen), Jon "Jack" (Theresa), Caroline "Lynn" Housey (Floyd), Barb Thorne (Gordon), Tracy Stadler (Scott) and Anita Nelson (Rhonda); and his brothers, Stan (Judy) and Kenny (Shirley). He is also survived by 21 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers memorials are preferred to the Minnesota Veteran's Home or a charity of the donor's choice.
