He was predeceased by: his brother John Adkins; his parent-in-law Lloyd Johnson; his parents, James Adkins and Appalonia Adkins; and also Doris Johnson.
He is survived by: his wife Colleen; his sons, Bradley Adkins (Tara Persons) of Eveleth and Loy Adkins (Mindy) of Iron; his grandchildren, Abre, Macey, Shelby, Rowdy and Gunnar; his great grandchild Skylar; and his siblings, Irene Wendt, JoAnne Rancourt (William), Peter Adkins (Jeanne), Linda Scepurek, Betty Scepurek, James Adkins, Dennis Adkins, Ralph Adkins and Roger Adkins (Diane). He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Memorials are preferred in lieu of flowers.
