He was predeceased by: his parents, Michael and Dolores; and his former wife Patricia. He is survived by: his wife Nancy Hacker Farinella; his daughters, Gina Brown (Tashia), Deanna Adams (Derek) and Michelle Farinella; his stepdaughter Alexandra Hacker; his grandchildren, William, Aubrey, Skylar and Aria; his great grandchild Devin; and his siblings, Joseph (Julie), Mary Retzlaff (Steve), Matthew (Deborah) and Dean (Camille). He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.

To honor Mike's love of nature, memorials are preferred to the National Audubon Society.
